Cajun Wings

I have recently been enjoying making my own cajun seasoning. With wings it is perfect as it coats them but doesn’t overwhelm them. To make sure the wings absorb the flavours we marinate them overnight. If you are not able to marinate them overnight, at the least have them marinate for four to five hours. This is crucial to the wings absorbing the flavour. Let’s get into it!

Preparation Time – 10 Minutes

Cook Time – 45 Minutes

Chicken wings – 3 lbs

Garlic powder – 2 Teaspoons

Onion powder – 2 Teaspoons

Paprika – 2 Teaspoons

Oregano – 1 Teaspoon

Thyme – 1 Teaspoon

Pepper – 1/2 Teaspoon

Cayenne powder – 1/2 Teaspoon

Salt – 3/4 Teaspoon

Olive Oil – 4 Teaspoons

In a bowl mix all the spices and the oil, coat the wings well with this marinade. Put in the fridge overnight. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and lay the wings out on a baking tray covered in parchment paper to avoid sticking.

Bake them for 45 minutes, you can turn them at the halfway mark using tongs. After the 45 minutes if you still want it crispier you can broil them for a few minutes. Do not leave them unattended. Serve hot!

I served this with ranch as a dip and it was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Making wings seem complicated but it is probably one of the more easiest things to make! I think the concept of going out to eat them now, just makes me think twice. These are not greasy as they are baked versus fried.

If you are having a party this will be a sure crowd pleaser. Check out another wing recipe, try my Honey Garlic Wings.
