Honey Garlic Wings

If you are looking for an appetizer or even a meal idea, here is the tastiest wings recipe I have ever made. It is the perfect combination of garlic and sweetness! I love mine more garlicky and flavorful so I marinate my wings overnight. These are baked so it is not as unhealthy as frying them. Pop them in the oven and let them crisp up!

With the New Year coming, maybe you could add this to your appetizer tray? Fair warning, make enough because these will go fast!!

Preparation Time – 30 Minutes

Cook Time – 45 Minutes

Serves – 4


Chicken Wings – 4 1/2 Lbs

Garlic powder – 2 Teaspoons

Onion powder – 1/2 Teaspoon

Pepper – 1 Teaspoon

Paprika – 2 Teaspoon

Salt – 1 Teaspoon

For the sauce:

Honey – 1/3 Cup

Soy sauce – 3 Tablespoons

Garlic Cloves – 4 grated

Ginger – 2 Tablespoons grated

Olive Oil – 1 Teaspoon


Toss the wings in garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, paprika and salt. Marinate this overnight or at least for 4 hours.


Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Then place them in a layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. If you don’t use the parchment paper the wings will stick and may not crisp up as well. This will go in the oven for 45 minutes. If you want to crisp them further feel free to keep them in five minutes longer but keep an eye on them.


Now to make the sauce, add all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. On medium heat reduce this sauce to almost half the quantity. Keep stirring as you don’t want the honey to burn. The sauce will be sticky by the time you are done but runny enough to coat the wings.


After the 45 minutes your wings will look like below. Using tongs place them in a large bowl.


Now pour your sauce over the wings and toss to coat well.


There you have perfectly seasoned honey garlic wings! We had to make this kid friendly so we left out the chilli flakes. But if you like some heat, substitute the paprika with 1/2 a teaspoon of chilli flakes. If you don’t want them to taste as garlicky reduce the garlic powder to half.

These wings can be served with fries or a salad. It is so flavorful you could even serve it with some plain rice and stir fried vegetables. This recipe was for four adults and one toddler, we had maybe five wings to spare.
