Back in my college days, whenever we had a dorm meeting this dip made an appearance. It was ravished even before the meeting started. It is so simple to make and just really tasty.
I always use the same canned chili brand, Stagg, because it is hearty and has little pieces of meat and not just beans. I use one original flavor and one dynamite flavored because we like some heat. If you do not want any heat just use original.
Cook Time – 10 Minutes
Serves – 4
Stagg Original Chili – 1
Stagg Dynamite Chili – 1
Cream Cheese – 1 block, cut into squares
In a saucepan, heat your chili till it bubbles and then drop your creamcheese in. Mix till the cream cheese melts into the chili. Take off from the heat.
It thickens and becomes more scoopable as it cools slightly. I know it is such a simple recipe but you will not believe how many people ask me for the recipe when I take it to parties. The ratio is 2 cans of chili to 1 block of cream cheese.
It tastes better than it looks. Serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!
